What is PROVENT Therapy?

PROVENT™ Professional Sleep Apnea Therapy is a simple, non-invasive treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The PROVENT Nasal Device uses a novel MicroValve design that attaches over the nostrils and is secured in place with hypoallergenic adhesive. The MicroValve opens and closes, redirecting air through small holes to create resistance upon breathing out. Because it's a small, single use, disposable device, it's also discreet and very convenient.

How PROVENT Therapy Works

PROVENT Therapy uses proprietary MicroValve technology. The device attaches over the nostrils. During inhalation the MicroValve opens, allowing the user to breathe in freely. Then, during exhalation, the MicroValve closes and air passing through the nose is directed through two small air channels. This increases air pressure in the airway which helps to keep it open.

Contraindications

The PROVENT Nasal Device should not be used if you have any of the following conditions:

• A severe breathing disorder (including respiratory muscle weakness, bullous lung disease, bypassed upper airway, pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum, etc.)
• Severe heart disease (including heart failure)
• Pathologically low blood pressure
• An acute upper respiratory (including nasal, sinus, or middle ear) inflammation or infection, or perforation of the ear drum
