CPAP machine

PROVENT Nasal Device

There are several treatment options for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the most common being a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. CPAP uses an air pump to continuously blow air into a hose connected to a face or nasal mask worn by the user. Air pressure keeps the user's airway open, which allows for uninterrupted breathing during sleep. CPAP has been used to treat OSA for more than 25 years and is a very effective treatment option.

Although CPAP is an effective treatment for sleep apnea, some users can find the mask and other equipment cumbersome and difficult to use. Some people have difficulty falling asleep while wearing the mask or getting used to the air pressure, and may use it less often than they should or stop the treatment altogether.

Now there is PROVENT™ Professional Sleep Apnea Therapy — an easy-to-use alternative indicated for OSA:

  • Small and discreet — No embarrassing mask, cumbersome hose, or machine on the nightstand
  • Easy to apply
  • Single use — No cleaning or maintenance required

PROVENT Therapy uses proprietary MicroValve technology. The device attaches discreetly over the nose. When the user breathes in, the MicroValve opens completely and a normal breath is taken. When the user breathes out, the MicroValve partially closes, causing resistance and increased air pressure in the airway.

This increase in air pressure "props open" and stabilizes the airway, helping to prevent it from closing. With PROVENT Therapy, the user's own breathing creates the air pressure, so there is no need for an air pump. Some users may require an acclimation period to adjust to this sensation of increased pressure while breathing out.

If you have been diagnosed with OSA, ask your doctor if PROVENT Therapy is right for you.
